CHAUK HTAT KYI, the reclining Buddha Image, was built in 1269 (Myanmar Calendar Year), AD 1907. It is SHWE-THA-HLYAUNG Buddha Image, in English RECLINING BUDDHA. Located in the northwest of Singuttara Hill where SHWEDAGON Pagoda stands, it’s about a mile away from the hill.
Donated by a rich broker and Member of Parliament called Sir U Po Tha, CHAUK HTAT KYI was built on the six terraces and six tiered mound. That’s the reason; it was named CYAUK HTAT KYI.

The image is 101 feet high and 235 feet long…

This is the fist time I have been to CHAUK HTAT KYI… I found very detailed carvings on the foot of the Buddha image…

The only wide angle shot I have created through SIGMA 10-20mm Wide Angle Aspherical Lens…

The posture of the image appeared to be welcoming the pilgrimages and religious visitors…

Each eye of the sacred image is 5 feet and 8 inches in length and 1 foot 9 inches in breath…
