YANGON – THONGWA DAILY SHUTTLE

THON-GWA township located in southern part of Yangon division. It’s roughly 58 miles away from downtown of Yangon (or) some 2 hours drive. I earned this shot on 9th October 2008 on my way to Thon-Gwa township. I went there for the purpose of some businesses but I carried my camera along. Luckily, I had gained couples of cool shots on the road. Sometimes, these road shots turn out to be so interesting especially in these rural area.
This is so-called daily shuttle bus to and fro Yangon / Thongwa. The utterance “shuttle bus” sounds a bit high tech, I guess. Yes, I do confess! The vehicle is nothing more than a WILLY JEEP from the days of World War II. Surprisingly, we see heaps of these old jeeps still rolling on the roads of Burma. This shuttle bus promises no SAFETY since it was bearing over weight.
