I live in Canada and recently started to pursue my family history. My Grandmother had made notes in an old address book about, family births, deaths, Baptisms, etc., My mother, uncles and aunt were baptised at this church. Your pictures have given me a feeling of my past that is hard to explain. Until I get to Burma these shots will give me hope. Thank you so much for them, they are absolutely awesome!

@ Adam >> Thanks for your visit and it's interesting to know about your grandma. It's hard to say since there are some churches all over Burma with the same name. Especially, very common name like St.Mary. I suggest you go visit Myanmar Christian Mission and shoot the questions you wanna know. I believe they would give you more precise answers.

Hello to all. I am hoping that someone out there can help me with some information regarding the St. Marys Cathedral Church in Rangoon or Toungoo. I am from Melbourne Australia and I am looking to find out where my Grandmother was born & baptized. Does anyone know of the Catholic Church in Toungoo or of St Marys Cathedral Church in Rangoon or Toungoo?? She was born sometime between 1914 – 1920. I am led to believe that she was baptized at one of these churches as her older sister, born a couple of years before her, was baptized at the Catholic Church in Toungoo in 1913.
