YE LWIN OO, what’s going on?

I am planning to take my GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) exam by 13th MAR 2009. It’s for my MBA. Yes, I have been wrestling with GMAT books and simulated tests. I have got my amazing Dad sitting beside me until 2 – 3 AM everyday. You won’t believe. He reads all those GMAT books and shares the strategies and tactics he earns from reading. More than many times, I have mentioned here on this site and also on other social sites that my DAD is the biggest driving force in my LIFE. CONFIDENCE is what I have been hankering for my GMAT. Don’t worry, Dad. I will walk with confidence to success…

BEHIND THE SHOT

Seldom in our lives, we eagerly say NO. Can you walk three miles every single day? NO? Why? Look at this old man and his grandson. The shot was captured during my CHAUNG THA trip back in DEC 2008. I was going around far east of the beach with a motorbike and saw them walking on the beach. I captured these shots and talked to them. I asked him what did he do and where were they going? Grandpa said, “Son, I am a trishaw driver. This is our way back home. Every evening, I need to park my trishaw at the owner’s house and walk back to home at the west part of Chaung Tha. It’s approximately 3 miles trip.” “Thinking positively, walking is a good exercise, Son.” he smiled. Yes, they seemed no tension at all. Having struggled the whole day for a bite to eat and still then, the world grants him with a tiring way back home. The thing is that he did not perceive that as a PAIN OF HIS LIFE. Grandpa, keep on walking with confidence…

WITH CONFIDENCE, WE MOVE FORWARD…

This photo gives me a WINNING PHILOSOPHY for LIFE, MOVING FORWARD…

People could not stop loving this shot for its uniqueness and naturalistic expression. So, I am here re-submitting the same shot with some modification. I have tried to tweak a little bit here. I have exploited FILTERED B&W tone in it, at least to furnish a little different taste. Please let me know what you think.

The shot was created from the train. I was on my way back home from the new capital of Burma, NAY-PYI-TAW. This greenish rice field is located outskirt of TAU-NGOO township of BAGO division. I saw this buffalo cart rolling in the field. I took out my camera in very rush manner and created this shot. Some time back there, we normally see huge number of such Buffaloes in many parts of Burma. Unfortunately, buffaloes suddenly become rare animal owing to Nargis Cyclone in early May, 2008.

The FAO report indicated that the cyclone ravaged region was famous for livestock production, and that an estimated 200,000 water buffaloes and cattle were killed during cyclone. These draft animals were crucial to the regions rice cultivation capacity and transportation. Given most farmers owned two cattle to carry out normal farm operations, the loss estimated by FAO implies that roughly 100,000 farms are without draft animals to plant the 2008/09 main season rice crop. Given the average farm size in the delta region is 3-4 hectares; the impact of the cattle’s demise could reach a total of 400,000 hectares of rice land.

200,000 buffaloes is a very significant number for nature-agricultural country like Burma.

These little novices are from LAY EAIN TANN Village of PYAR PONE District, IRRAWADDY Division. I have been to Irrawaddy Delta many times. Followed by the repercussions of NAGIS CYCLONE which wiped out the whole delta area in early May 2008. For the god sake, I happened to travel there many times. Various relief trips delivering water, food, drugs, lives aids and emergency camping materials make me familiar with the area. I know which place possesses unique exposure for photo taking.

This photo is a result of my 4th relief trip to IRRAWADDY delta. We went there to deliver mosquito nets and anti-mosquito coil after hearing the shocking numbers of dead tolls resulted from Dengue Haemorrhagic fever and malaria. Total donations worth of US$ 100,000 being delivered effectively to the cyclone victims. Donors are from Republic of Singapore mainly organized by Abbot of Singapore Golden Pagoda Buddhist Temple. We had traveled 6 rounds to accomplish the mission and finally we had done it fruitfully.
